Like other forms of hybrid technology, CNG hybrid systems are designed to improve vehicle efficiency. In the case of the recently announced CNG hybrid buses, fuel efficiency has been increased by up to 40%. For transit fleets, this allows for both increased range and the potential combination of reduced onboard storage and bus weight.
